Over the past week, I’ve been thinking really hard about 2 comments that keep coming up every time I head out to read or gather information on MLM.
1. Give without want
2. Help enough people get what they want and you’ll get what you want.
Network marketing is about people. Relationships. Trust. Discipline. Action.
Finding hot buttons is something that is rarely spoken these days but the truth of the matter is, people should be focused on helping their prospects “find the pain” and then showing them how they can “eliminate that pain”.
The way I see most folks attacking their prospecting makes me want to barf, but most of these people have no clue what they are doing in the first place. The big reason for that is their sponsor is not a seasoned veteran of MLM, which explains some of the worst written ad’s/email pitches I’ve seen in a long time.
I’m sure you have read about the new way of building a business on the internet and I have been preaching about it for some time as well. It makes sense only if you know what the steps are AFTER you do the following:
1. get your own autoresponder
2. get your own website
3. lead capture page
That’s fine and dandy but now where do I go to find people to come to my site? And that is the number 2 problem in network marketing. How to get people to visit your site. Even more important would probably be getting the “right” people to visit your site.
The number 1 problem in network marketing is promoting someone else’s recruiting system because all the mlm leads you generate for yourself also are used against you. This in itself is another story all-together.
Bottom line: you need people visiting YOUR site, opting into YOUR autoresponder series and only then should they ever see your primary business. The best way to explain it is called: Multi Streams of Marketing
You and I should never use only one source to gather names. With the complexity of the search engines it takes a lot more “webbing” to get people to your sites, but when you get it all put together it works extremely well.
I took a site: www.healthy-arthritis-treatments.com that had less than 30 visits a month and literally explode site visitors to over 10 a day or 300 visits a month in less than 3 weeks. From these visits it was able to capture 18 new subscribers in the same period of time. And to be truthful, that site sucks at attracting subscribers because I don’t have the time to create a decent report. When I have time this summer, that will happen I can guarantee you that.
There is hope and soon I will begin creating a new website dedicated to network marketers. I will use the exact same tactics as above because it has tremendous potential. I’m writing about those tactics right now and I’ve initially named it: “Tightwad Tactics”.
The Tightwad part of it, is the simple fact that I refuse to pay one red cent for leads, PPC’s or any type of advertising. I’m generating those leads using tools I have paid for trying to build up my arthritis site. These are the only tools I will use and they cost less than $300 which includes webhosting, autoresponder and webpage building.
If you are still with me, here is the most important step a network marketer should take.
1. Stop trying to make money from your primary business only.
2. Make money in every phase of your marketing efforts.
3. Do it right and your leads that you generate will make you money before they see your primary business.
4. Make money from people joining your primary business.
5. Make money from those who don’t join your primary business.
6. Keep making money from your opt in list you have built.
By owning your own system (once set up it costs less than $50 per month to maintain) you will be able to brand yourself, present yourself as an expert, and have complete and total control over what your prospects read, review and join.
