MLM Leads, What to buy?

May 18th, 2008

MLM Leads, What to purchase for your situation.

Back in the olden days, 1998: we would purchase leads that had email addresses. They were expensive because it was really hard to get email addresses included in leads. You’d get the usual, NAME, PHONE, MAILING ADDRESS and that was about it.

I remember well when Prostep started to add email addresses and each month we would compare our leads with other members to see who got the most email addresses in their batch of 150 leads. (15 was a bonus but usually it was below 10 leads with email addresses). Within about a 17 months we all started getting all our leads with email addresses and that’s when things started to heat up.

We stopped calling our leads and emailed them instead. These people were higher end consumers becuase computers were still expensive. We sponsored a lot of those people and when computers became cheap our sponsoring rates dropped dramatically.

Today’s mlm leads can be found everywhere and you have to be very careful not to get mlm leads that expect a free ipod for signing up to some list. Reputable mlm lead companies don’t do that. Others be very careful.

Today I was asked what mlm leads I would use to build my business. That’s a simple one for me, because I am a tightwad and don’t like to spend all that much money for leads. I always had great success with older leads. These are the leads that have been used by other mlm distributors for 30 days.

These older leads go into the “old bin” and are resold one more time. That’s the leads I like and I play a game with those leads. People respond really well to it and I’ve had a great deal of success using this method.

In a nutshell, I will email the lead and ask them “how it felt to get bombarded” with the latest and greatest new product in the network marketing world”? Did any of those products or companies interest them? Did any of them really show them a way to make money that got them excited?

When people responded to my questions, I have them hooked. From there I use my consultant approach and begin a dialogue and built trust. Soon, you can have these people eating out of your hands. It’s fun and it works. But, you will need to get rid of a few mentalities. Selling, sponsoring, downline building, etc. Change your approach to a consultant and see what happens. I bet you will be pleasantly surprised.

The next time you want to throw away your MLM Leads, send them to me, and lets see if we can mine some gold out of those leads. I bet we can.

Email Marketing Campaign

May 4th, 2008

A few days ago, I told you about the new autoresponder system we had great success with several years ago. Today, I’d like to get a little deeper into what we did.

You need to have a couple of things already in place to make this successful and those of you building some of the popular mlm businesses already have this.

1. you need a lead capture page that converts. I’m sure your upline tells you to drive traffic to your url anyway you can. “Get as many people as you can to see your url and our system will take over”. If you have heard that, then you probably have a very good converting lead capture page.

If your lead capture page has been on the net for a while now, some prospects will probably just blow over it because they’ve seen it many times and probably don’t have a desire to read it again. Some prospects will not really be that interested in it, because they don’t fully understand it. If this is the case here is what you do.

A. create a different lead capture page tied into your own autoresponder. What you’ll want to do is “pre-sell” them on your business and tie in “how the system” has helped you build your business.

B. you can re-direct the prospect back to your system after they fill out your lead capture form or you can redirect them to a page you’ve set up to share the benefits of your business.

I’d be very surprised if your system does not have it’s own email follow up system. My advice is to create your own set of follow up messages that support each email your prospect receives from the mlm system you are using. Especially if your follow up system is using video, you could say something like this in your first letter.

“Hey prospects name, Bob here and I just wanted to give you a heads up on what is coming your way. You’ll be receiving 7 video’s that will teach you {whatever your video’s will share with them} and how it helps us earn $20 a pop, and we don’t do any {fill in the blanks here} selling, sponsoring, phone work}. In some of these video’s there are a couple of “gems” that if you completely understand, a light bulb will go off in your head and you’ll see why so many people who have just started to build a home based business are having fun, success and watching their income increase daily.

Just a brief note about me: I’m a father of 2, PE teacher and coach, work on the side remodeling homes, flipping homes and painting. However, I don’t work nearly as much on the side anymore, because this system has allowed me to earn twice as much money on the side as my flipping homes has earned. Best part is, I get to stay at home more often, see my kids a lot more and work maybe 1 or 2 hours a day, depending on how much money we need for the coming months.

This system caught my attention because I really don’t know that much about computers, building websites, finding customers or such but it wasn’t that hard to learn. That’s what attracted me to this home based business. The training is great, the system is free and I can use what I have learned to make even more money doing other things.

Do yourself a favor and at least give this system so of your valuable time to investigate it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised as you turn each corner of the page.

That letter is an outline on how to create your first support email message to a system you are using. You can even use that letter (with modifications) as your first message using your own lead capture page.

Now that we have our support emails set up for our system in a couple of days, we’ll start preparing our 10 eamil marketing letters to autoresponder leads. I do it a little differently than most, because I know the people we will be contacting from autoresponder leads and they are not seasoned veterans of a home based business.

My goals with these leads are in this order.

1. get them to trade their contact information (name, email) for something I will be offering them for free.
2. get them to purchase something in-expensive that will help me cover the cost of these leads.
3. build trust with these people and get them to view my mlm prospecting system.
4. convert them into new downline members

The above 4 steps takes time. Getting some of these new leads from step 1 to step 4 could take 7 days or less. Most of them will take 2 months minimum before they join my downline. I don’t really care how long it takes them to join my downline because I’m not gonna be losing any money by purchasing more autoresponder leads every week. Steps 1 and 2 take care of my lead purchase and steps 3 and 4 will take care of my long term residual income needs.

Also, if a person never completes step 4, I have many other options for them already set up. As long as these prospects stay in my funnel system, they’ll have many other opportunities to show them something that might be of interest to them and help me earn even more money.

Bottom line, I only need about 6 people to purchase the in-expensive product to help me break even. The minute I get enough money to purchase more leads, I will. My only goal is to fill that pipeline with names and email addresses, the systems will take care of the rest.

Isn’t that what making money online is all about?

Until next time

Bob
